Birkenhead North End ‘Hilly 22’ (2nd April)

The opening of the local season saw the Birkenhead North End ‘Hilly 22’ take place on the usual circuit starting and ending near Broxton roundabout on the A41. It’s hard to disentangle the results because they appear to be only partially recorded on the CTT website, so apologies if I’ve missed anyone.
The men’s race was won by Phil Williams (Team Bottrill) in what I believe is a course record, 43:36 and the women’s race by Joss Lowden (Drops Cycling), in a remarkable 46:40, another course record and one that I imagine will take some beating. Jacob Tipper (Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling) managed 49:36 to take the road bike category. Arthur Winstanley of the Phoenix took the ‘Vets on standard’ prize with 52:51 (+12:43 on standard).
