Alex Nurse on an outstanding day in North Wales:
Seven LCRC Riders out today for round 5 of the WCTTA on the fast St Asaph Course. It was a warm, still(ish) morning getting hotter as the day went on.
Peter Grindley got us underway and set the tone for the day with a solid 23:36 and a new PB.
Kate Giddings followed and set a storming 22:28 to smash her PB from a few weeks ago.
Simon Higgins was next with a rapid 22:03 after his 57 on J2/9 yesterday afternoon. Then came me with a 22:49 - a course best of almost a minute and just shy of PB with a wheel on loan from Chris Reynolds after a disc-disaster last night.
Then came Chris Reynolds himself with a 21:38 to PB after beating his time set with Kate on the fast A50 course.
Paul Grindley was fastest centurian with a 21:15, while the real tubthumping performance of the day was Hannah Macdonald, who turned in a 21:33 on her first competitve race this year.
Amazing times by all centurions on a great day for it.
Oh yeah, and some bloke called Ryan Mullen turned up at did a 17:49 just after riding a race called the ‘Giro d’Italia’. I think it’s a sportive…
Paul Grindley: 21:15
Hannah Macdonald: 21:33
Chris Reynolds: 21:38
Simon Higgins: 22:03
Kate Giddings: 22:28
Alex Nurse: 22:49
Peter Grindley: 23:36
