Race type: Road race
Location: Aintree Motor Racing Circuit
Date: 9 March, 2019
The traditional start to the North-West road season for many Century riders was held on a (traditionally) cold and windy day. The event is run as a handicap where you are started according to your licence category so there is a chance to stay away if you work hard enough…
Tom Stewart, Declan Hudson, Eze Okoku & Chris Finnan where all there for the club. The day was a hard season starter with the wind, weather and crashes causing havoc on the course. The event was won by Matt Bottrill who went solo early and lapped the field(!) in an event he’d previously won 21 years ago. Just shows where hard work gets you… Tom Stewart was our best placed rider coming in 39th, with Declan also recording a finish on a day that not many did.
Thanks as ever to Ellen Isherwood for the pic
