Club members with 50 years’ (or more) membership.
Alan Powell began his 50th year of membership of the club this year. Alan now lives
near Kettering in Northants but travels up to attend the club dinner every year. Alan is
still an active cyclist and mostly rides fixed wheel, which is fairly rare these days.
Congratulations Alan on your long membership; we hope you have many more years
with the Century to come. I am sure you will all enjoy reading some of his remarkable
cycling rides described in the article.
Members who have been in the club for 50 years or longer
Jim Booth 69 years.
Keith Denny 51 years.
Pete Gilroy 69 years.
Arthur Sims 67 years.
Eddie Sims 60 years.
Rob Pleavin and Jeff Thompson both joined over 50 years ago, but missed a few years’
membership. All still ride a bike on a regular basis, apart from Jim Booth.
Soon to join the list
Mike Green (2022), John Molyneux (2026), Martin Moore (2027), Andy Murphy (2026),
Terry Giblin (2026), Cal Gough (2025), Phil Mitchell (2023).
I have been using a list from several years ago, so many apologies for any errors.
Please let me know of any mistakes so I can correct them, particularly anyone I have
missed from the list.
Sadly, since Eddie wrote this, Jim has passed away
